“Heal” Smoothie with Mango, Apricot, and Turmeric
In honor of my recipe book Hot Girl Smoothies coming out this past week (which you can purchase HERE!), I’m highlighting another recipe from my book titled “Heal”. It’s one of the most popular recipes so far among the people who have purchased the book and my recipes testers, and if you purchase the book, you’ll see why it’s also one of MY favorites!! I am going to give you a guys a recipe from the book each week in July, just because it’s SO hot and smoothies absolutely hit the spot in this heat!
The name of this smoothie is inspired by one of my favorite documentaries, “Heal” on Amazon Prime, and uses one of my favorite spices/root veggies, turmeric, which has so many healing and anti-inflammatory properties. I hope you all enjoy this one as a smoothie OR as a smoothie bowl. I know it’s one that you’ll come back to on REPEAT.
Xo,
B 🤎
Ingredients:
1/2 cup frozen banana slices
1 medium apricot chopped into 1 inch cubes with the skin left on and frozen overnight or for at least 2 hours
1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
1 tablespoon local organic honey
1/2 - 1 teaspoon ground turmeric (use 1/2 if you don’t use turmeric regularly)
1 pinch black pepper
1 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (add more if needed)
Topping options to make it a bowl:
gluten free granola
choppped raw almonds
local honey, drizzled
unsweetened coconut flakes
black chia seeds (for a pop of color!)
option to add a pinch of cayenne, black pepper, or cinnamon on top for extra flavor
Recipe:
Place all smoothie ingredients into a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. Start on a low setting and intermittently stir, adding more milk if needed. Gradually increase the intensity until you achieve a smooth, creamy consistency and bright golden color. Pour and drink immediately.
If making into a bowl, use a spoon to scrape the smoothie into a bowl and flatten the top with the back of the spoon by making circles around the top of the bowl. Top with toppings in your own creative way. ENJOY and be well. 🥣
