Bethany Chu
Doctor of Physical Therapy · Holistic Nutritionist · Yoga & Pilates Teacher · Author · Mother
I've been teaching yoga, pilates, and meditation for ten years — since 2016 — and I hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. What started as a personal practice on the mat grew into something I never quite planned: a calling to help others move better, feel stronger, and find a little bit of stillness in the noise.
The truth is, I've never been very good at sitting still. During graduate school I started sharing classes and flows online as @arkyogagirl, and that page became its own little world. Over time it grew into Bethany Davis Wellness, and eventually into what it is today — B Well, an online studio where I teach alongside Alex, Taylor, and Teja. Building a team has been one of the most rewarding parts of this whole journey.
In 2017, everything shifted. I discovered the power of food as medicine when I healed lifelong chronic ulcers, constipation, and eczema through nutrition. It sounds simple when I write it out, but it changed the way I understood wellness entirely — and it led me to become a certified holistic nutritionist. That experience is the foundation of my recipes, my approach to food, and my book Hot Girl Smoothies — 16 smoothie recipes designed to expand your gut microbiome.
Around the same time, I co-founded Story Coffee House — a neighborhood coffee shop rooted in community, conversation, and really good coffee. I also started a nonprofit called Project Warm, which has since moved to Oregon and continues its mission. Graduate school was supposed to be about studying, but I couldn't help building things. I think that instinct — to create, to care for people, to keep making — has been the thread through everything.
Over the years, my world has expanded far beyond the mat and the kitchen. I've grown to love sharing lifestyle, fashion, and the honest, messy, beautiful journey of motherhood and writing with this community. What started as a wellness platform has naturally morphed into something richer — wellness and lifestyle woven together, because I don't think they were ever really separate.
As of 2026, I'm learning French, leaning further into fashion and lifestyle, and embracing the idea that wellness isn't just what you do on the mat. It's how you live, dress, eat, create, and show up in the world. This site — bethanychu.studio — is my attempt to put all of those pieces in one place. I'm so glad you're here.
