March Intentions!! And Wellness Newsletter
🤎 Sometimes I feel so lucky to be able email and connect with hundreds of you as an individual person. I know I always says it, but I’m so thankful to those who have followed along my life journey with me. From teaching yoga and smoothie bowls in graduate school, to diving into manifestation, my divorce, and opening up a coffee shop all the way to my current fitness platform. If you’re still here, you’ve seen the full evolution of me, and I hope that you, too, have also evolved.
Like SO MANY of us, we go through so many iterations of ourselves. I was just telling P and another friend of mine how I am a COMPLETELY different person than I was 8 years ago, and even since I got divorced and started dating again. But as the spring starts to being for all of us, I am so beautifully reminded that we should always be shedding old layers of ourselves. You don’t want to (and really should NOT be - trust me..!) be the same person you were 10 years ago.
Let’s be real: thank GOD we get to learn from our mistakes and change our minds! It’s a freedom that I think soooo many of us take for granted. At any given moment in our lives, our day, and even your next breath, you have the freedom to change and become a different version of yourself. What a gift!!! I tell my yoga students almost every class: breathe in what you need, exhale what you don’t.
You are allowed to change, and you should!! If we’re growing, we are constantly becoming a more authentic version of ourselves and every freaking time that we say no to things that no longer serve us. I’ll say it again and again. It’s a GIFT, and a choice. YOU are the one that gets to choose.
On a personal note, here are my monthly intentions, things I am loving, and wellness essentials for me. I’ve been diving a lot more into fashion and reading this past month, particularly vegan leather things. Stella McCartney is my go-to, and I also just bought my first Rebecca Minkoff bag, which is EVERYTHING to me.
Jude now officially has NO top teeth in the front… but she’s just as adorable as ever. 🥹🐶 Apparently, the best thing you can do for your dog is get their teeth cleaned EVERY year (like under anesthesia), to prevent infection that can be fatal then they are older and have a worsened immune system.
I also tried a complete cold plunge (see pictured below…!), and it was the HARDEST thing I’d ever done, truly. I swim in cold water and will finish my shower with a cold one, but when I got out I almost had a minor panic attack, but I HAD to breathe through it. That’s the power of it. I have now done it 4 times (3 the first time because I’m stubborn!) and I am up to 1:11. I am putting the responsibility on my friend Jamie to keep me accountable. 🤪
You’ll also see that I was in the KITCHEN a LOT in February with my sweet mama. We created a 3 part series of healthy desserts that you will NOT want to miss out on. You can find them here.
Okay, so read below for more updates AND my March Intentions. Let me know YOUR intentions for the month! Sharing them helps us to stay accountable. And Happy March. 🍀🥇🤎🌷
So, to end the month, here are a few updates in my life:
I started pilates training (ah!!!) and I’m SO excited. I’ve been a yoga teacher for 9 years this May (which is INSANE), but I’ve taken pilates classes for years and taught many online and in person pilates inspired classes. However, I think it’s about time that I get officially certified in the practice, so I’m beginning the month of March with a 16-hour weekend of pilates training. It’s INTENSE for sure, but luckily I have a 8 years of school and doctoral degree in movement to help make it less intense. 😉
My self love challenge gave me so much joy, you can find it on my website at all times. :)
Still doing EMDR therapy, which is so intense and uncovering the childhood trauma is SO HARD. I’ve basically realized I’ve been depressed most of my life, so stepping away from the sadness is very hard sometimes, because I do believe I am a naturally energetic person. I am really learning to put it into a box and realize that it’s a part of me, not me. It’s a journey, but one so worth going on, because the more I can step away from the depression (and fully heal it) the less I seek numbing activities and the more PRESENT I am in my relationship.
SOMETHING BIG IS COMING SOON. I cannot wait to share it all with you guys. 📚📚📚📚📚
I lost a lot of friends in the last two years, but I actually am loving pouring myself into a few deep friendships that mena so much to me. Maybe that just comes with growing older, but the friends that do text me and still check in and make the time to see me mean so much more to me.
Learning to love and accept myself the way I am and just OWN my creativity, energy, and uniqueness has helped with my family relationships, friendships, and romantic relationships. I HIGHLY recommend meditation, journaling, and sitting still for getting to know yourself. Everything is better when you do. 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
A NEW BDW meditation teacher is coming to the side with a 3 part series starting March 28th!!!!! Stay tuned, because she is the most present, wonderful, and beautiful people I know, inside and out, and I feel so lucky to be able to have her on this platform.
I started running again at the end of February when the weather got nice! I LOVE IT and actually missed it a lot. While I don’t run more than 3-4 miles now at a time, I forgot how amazing it feels when the weather is nice. I also started swimming again this last week (at least once a week is my goal!).
Things I’m loving:
I got new artwork in my house (pictured below!) from my dear friend Alex, and I’m still on my clean candle kick with these beautiful concrete vases and clean filled candles from 22 Stone Bloom. Be looking for a giveaway on my social channels. :)
I went on a clean water kick at the end of 2024 and I’m still on it. I’ve become OBSESSED with making sure that my water, which I consume a lot daily, is as clean as possible. We have been using a Clearly Filtered water pitcher because it filters out all the bad things (use code CFPartner for 10% off!), but I’m also trying to get rid of plastic, so are looking into a Glacier Fresh Water filter system next because it’s stainless steel.
Still SO OBSESSED with Skinny Confidential mouth tape, Momentus magnesium at night, and still looooving the Oura ring. Parker is still younger than me, but I’ll beat him soon in being a younger age…. just you wait. 🔥
Just finished Younger on Netflix, which is amazing. Anything Darren Star produces is amazing, and I absolutely live for the fashion and presence of his characters.
For my Raynaud’s disease, which is SO active in anything below 40*, I started taking Berkely Life Nitric Oxide supplements. If you also suffer from Raynaud’s, you should give it a try. I have an Instagram reel about it coming this week. You can use code DAVIS10 to get 10% off if you do want to give it a shot; it can also help with improving blood pressure and heart conditions.
My new JUICE recipe is posted and shared on Wednesday this week, but it’s already on my site and you can find it here. I’ve been so obsessed with Suja for a while, but honestly I loved mine more! It’s more gingery and has more fruits/veggies, and you don’t need a juicer at all. 🥬🥒🍋🍊
March Intentions:
To KEEP running!!! At least 2-3 days/week.
Swim 1 x/week
Pilates 1-2 x/week

To put my depression into a box and remember that I can feel joy (the winter was ROUGH)
To go through my closet
To successfully launch at least 3-4 new classes on my site!
