Healthy Pumpkin Matcha Latte
Even though it’s only August…… Apparently it’s pumpkin season already. I had a friend this past weekend who told me that she literally only left the house Saturday for a PSL at Starbucks, which honestly, sounds like an amazing Saturday. As someone who avoids added sugars and fillers for my health, I knew that I could make a recipe that was healthier. I created an iced pumpkin latte back in 2020, and it is still my go-to. However, I hadn’t ventured into a pumpkin matcha, but I knew it was time.
Please enjoy this refined sugar free pumpkin spiced matcha that you can enjoy all season long. You can use the code BDWellness for 10% off Art of Tea’s matcha, which is my absolute favorite matcha and what we used to use at Story Coffee House. Ingredients:
1 tsp matcha
4-5 ounces water at 185*
1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
1 teaspoon pumpkin puree
2 teaspoons honey
1 splash vanilla extract
8 ounces unsweetened almond milk
Recipe:
Add matcha to a matcha bowl and 2 ounces water. Mix side to side with the matcha whisk to fully incorporate the matcha and water. Alternatively, you can add it to a higher rimmed bowl and use a hand-held frother.
Add pumpkin spice, pumpkin puree, and 2 more ounces of water, then whisk. Add honey, splash of vanilla, and 1 more ounce of water, then whisk a final time. Add mixture to a latte mug.
Heat 8 ounces almond milk on the stove top in a pan or with a steamer until desired temperature (160* is best). Add to the matcha, sprinkle with cinnamon, and enjoy. 🤎
